Up Close and Personal 5

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all well today. This is my fifth new style of blog. So far, so good, I’m hoping you’re all enjoying it.
I’m going to have guests answer some questions and hope it helps someone out there.
Today, my fifth guest on the blog is my step daughter Sam, she’s a very sarcastic funny person, with good banter.
Question 1.I often hear you say, taking the dog out for a walk help’s your mental health. What do you get from it?
Physically, it makes me feel better. The more I walk, the less stress I feel, watching the dog be happy on her walks lifts my mood, this in turn makes me socially happier.
Question 2. Anxiety, what does it mean to you?
Anxiety to me is a rush of adrenaline! Fight or flight! A struggle to control!
This new blog of mine is coming to you every Thursday from 9.30 am UK time.
Thank you for reading, and if you want to take part, please drop a comment or leave me an email.

Dear John
1. When Dolly was my best friend I would take her for walks. When I let her off the lead she would wander of with anyone. It made our walks long. Good exercise. She was my, ahem, faithful (haha) friend. She also bit tractor tyres and 4 wheel drive tyres when they went past. I explained to her that it was a dangerous pastime. She did not listen. It was not the tractor tyres that got her in the end. I was sad when she died.
2. Anxiety to me? It means you are going in the wrong direction. However, sometimes you must. Also it might just be a thought process that is in the wrong direction. That is why it should never be “My way or the highway”. When I get anxiety my legs shake … I rarely flee … I try and stand my ground … This I feel is an assertive stance. Only do this if you feel comfortable with outcomes. Often folding is best for safety reasons.
Message to John’s Step daughter … Dogs have senses we could only hope to understand and aspire too.

Dear John
In point 2…I should have used more >I< instead of >you<.
I learned this only yesterday in Recovery College.
So much for a rather holey brain leaking my learning.
