“Living With Confidence: Why I Started My Own Mental Health CIC”
Hey everyone, I hope you’re well and good. I know it’s Friday, but today I’m buzzing to bring you some exciting news.
When I first started blogging, I had no idea where it would take me. From writing posts to giving talks, then being invited on podcasts—it’s been a wild ride of growth, nerves, and surprising confidence boosts.
One of the biggest shifts came while working on the Burgh Castle project. I got stuck into some really meaningful stuff, and someone suggested something I’d never considered before: starting a CIC (Community Interest Company). At first, I thought—me? Really? But the more I sat with it, the more it felt right.
You see, growing up, I was constantly told I wouldn’t amount to much. School, college, the job centre—they all made me feel like I couldn’t run anything, like I’d never reach that “level.” But guess what?
As of 30th July 2025, I’ve officially launched Living With Mental Health CIC. A not-for-profit dedicated to raising awareness, sharing stories, and creating supportive, community-led mental health projects.
I couldn’t have done this alone. Massive thanks to my partner, and to Laura, David, Paul, Abby, and Darren—you’ve been solid rocks on this journey. And of course, thank you to every single one of you who likes, shares, or comments on my posts. Your support means the world.
What’s next? I’m hoping to create a project similar to Burgh Castle—a documentary-style series around mental health, and loads more ideas are bubbling too. This isn’t just a passion—it’s become my purpose.
I honestly don’t think I could return to a regular workplace and cope mentally. So, I’m building something that works for me—at my pace, on my terms, and with impact.
If you’re curious about the CIC, future collaborations, or anything in between—drop me an email: . Also why not pop and visit my site and read a blog.

"We are a start-up and like anyone need some funds to do our good work in the community" If you can support this venture using the "Buy me a coffee" link it helps the CIC with some urgently needed expenses. These expenses are things like Accountancy fees, Company House requirements and other official expenditure that helps run the CIC. Effectively the Coffee you buy us helps us stay legit and operate to UK CIC guidelines.
