A event with the restoration trust :)

There is no "I" in struggle

A event with the restoration trust :)

Good morning, everyone. I hope you’ve all had an amazing weekend and enjoyed the sun shine.

We went to the beach with our granddaughter, and made me be naughty ๐Ÿ˜„ we had chips, then went got an ice cream. The smell of fresh hot donuts won me over, and I had to have some ๐Ÿฉ I’m not going to lie, they where bloody delicious, so thank you to the granddaughter, even though it was very naughty hahaha.

Well, today I’m just going to talk about the event I went to last week, for the restoration trust. I was picked up, and taken to Gressenhall workhouse for the venue.

Got to the venue you with only one wrong turn, so thank you Phill for getting us there safely and on time.

I was really anxious about this event as there was going to be people I did’nt know there, and my anxiety was high.

The event started, and Toby started to speak, and I don’t know what it was about, as his voice just made me feel so calm and relaxed. Also, I had my partner on speed dial in case I started to panic.

But even before we left, I didn’t know what top to wear, and my partner said, “How about the duck hoodie?”
So I thought yeah, why not.

My partner made the right choice. My hoodie was a great icebreaker and got me talking to people I didn’t know, because they would comment on my top, so win win all round.

Also, we had to do some arts and crafts, and I started to curse, as you know, crafts are not my forte haha, but I did enjoy it ๐Ÿคช so thank you sue for doing these little tasks, I really enjoyed it.

I have to say thank you to sue again as I found she was behind this event. I sometimes struggle with black writing on white paper, it’s like my eyes just randomly go to different parts of the paper while trying to read it. But the topic and questions on different coloured paper were really helpful, and my eyes didn’t wonder at all.

I really found the day awesome. My only problem is it wiped my energy levels out, and I feel like I’m running on empty.

It was a good event. It was a really good day, connections made, and some really good ideas came to light.

Thank you for reading. Have a great week, keep on smiling.

  1. Dear John

That sounds like a top day out, Quack Quack.

I think it sounds like your association with the Restoration Trust is a winner.

I am thinking Donuts. You are very lucky. Donuts are the wonder circle.

The trick, I find, with frustrating tasks is a calm exterior. Even if you go a bit red because of the turmoil inside. Craft tasks can be frustrating. To me I don’t think of the importance of the task at hand, I think of the start point … The end point … And the bit in between takes care of itself. I think it is also not a competition, except maybe against yourself.

I think you have a unique method of reading and writing …. Exploit it.

    Try this as an exercise:

I can challenge you to this if you like … Because I can do a version too and we can make a blog on each of our sites and link them.

    1. Write a poem very quickly … Or as quickly as you can.
    2. Time passes – Maybe 1 week, maybe 1 day.
    3. Revisit poem and change it a bit. Add some, change a word here or there, remove some
    4. Time passes – Same as 2.
    5. Revisit poem and same as 3.

Keep each version and present it as a Blog … Three poems evolved in three sittings. Could take three weeks.

If you want to pick this up say so and I shall too.

I think the title of the poem should be “Some Donuts” … If you want a different title please suggest.
