Hello reader welcome to my latest post I hope you’ve all had a cracking Christmas and new year!
My challenge is based on this article By Sam Grainger and the encouragement from seeing David Robertson’s post here
- What has made me proud this year?
- 2024 was the year I was discharged from all mental health services since entering them again in 2018.
- I have also, after many years, of wondering if I was Autistic finally got the diagnosis of being on the spectrum which give me some answers to why I do things the way I do and the way I am.
- What has been my biggest challenge this year and how did I overcome this challenge?
- My biggest challenge was Attending the Wave therapeutic group for year from 2023 -2024
- I had to get the bus from mine to Norwich and nearly every Monday it was 30 minutes late haha 😂
- Then in the morning we would do the work on the course which sometimes was very triggering, then after lunch there would be an activity to ground us before going home. I found this the hardest bit as I was by myself on the bus home and couldn’t chill till I got home.
- What am I proud of this year?
- Completing the course last year with Waves Norfolk and Waveney Mind gave me a great sense of achievement and pride.
- My next big thing I’m proud of is becoming a trustee for the Restoration Trust who have been giving me so much, I’m now gratefully giving my time back to them.
- What did not go well and what can I change?
- not to over book or over commit myself, and listen to when my body is telling me to take time for myself.
- What have I learnt over the last year?
- I have learnt a lot of new coping techniques with my anxiety thanks to the waves course and also my podcast I did with Sam from this post.
- and also David Robertson’s with things he has showed me with my new website and my editing of blogs and just also being there when I have a crazy idea 🙂
- If I could travel back to the beginning of the year, what advice would I give myself?
- This might sound harsh.
- Don’t give up keep fighting and if something doesn’t work the first time try again or try something new as the same thing might not work this time but will in the another time 😀
- end of harsh
- What changes am I going to make in the coming year?
- This running year I think I’m not going to change much but the biggest thing I’m going to do is look after the people who look out for me.
- What do I want to achieve in the coming year?
- I’ve set a couple of things I want to do this year and one of them is to become a community interest company (CIC), and the other is to start planning on a documentary style video around mental health and mental illness.
Please comment and ask me any questions in the comments section, I will respond to answer questions in the comments or to your email 😀
